Why a Single Subject Teaching Credential?
You may choose to pursue your teaching credential combined with the Masters of Arts: Teaching degree. You will have an academic advisor who will help you plan out your program sequence.
Students who have completed a bachelor's degree program may complete the requirements for the Single Subject Credential as part of their Master of Arts: Teaching program.
Admissions Requirements
- Application: Apply online at
www.laverne.edu/apply. Application fee is $50. (If you attend an information Session, the fee is waived.) - Financial Aid: Submit the FAFSA online
www.fafsa.gov - Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with 2.75 or above GPA
- Statement of purpose
- Writing Competency Assessment
- Current TB Clearance with the past 2 years
- Current fingerprint clearance/Live Scan with the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing
- CBEST Passage required
- Subject matter competence or verification of CSET registration
- Three letters of recommendation

Costs Graduate Tuition: $680 per unit Academic Service Fee: $30 per class
Application Fee: $50 (waived if you attend an Information Session)
Format Accelerated 8‐week semesters; 5 semesters per year; evening and occasional Saturday
classes.
