Umoja
The new Umoja Community is an inclusive support program focused on enhancing the cultural and educational experiences of Black and African American students. Open to all students, Umoja fosters a sense of belonging through counseling, mentorship, community building, and culturally relevant instruction grounded in the legacy of the African and African American Diasporas.

Who Can Be an Umoja Student?
To be considered an Umoja student at College of the Canyons, you must have an Umoja application on file, attend a mandatory orientation, be actively enrolled at the college, and meet at least one of the following:
- You are enrolled in or have completed an Umoja-designated or supported course.
- You receive counseling or educational planning through Umoja.
- You use Umoja-sponsored academic or support services.
- You participate in Umoja-sponsored events or activities.
