Attend mandatory Orientation or Umoja Welcome Event each academic year.
Enroll in at least one Umoja-supported or Umoja-dedicated course, such as English C1000 and/or Counseling 150.
Meet with a designated Umoja counselor for academic planning and support.
Participate in at least one Umoja-sponsored workshop or activity per semester, such as a campus event, cultural enrichment activity, or field trip.
Remain actively enrolled at College of the Canyons.
Umoja Courses
Umoja students are encouraged to enroll in courses taught by faculty trained in Umoja's culturally relevent and student-centered approach.
These courses focus on community building, identity affirmation, and academic success.

Village & Community
Students have access to the Umoja Village, which is a dedicated space on campus for studying, support, and community connection. (Village space coming soon!)
Regular engagement with the Umoja team and fellow students helps build a strong sense of belonging and community.
