Spend a week with our expert instructors in a hands-on exploration of alternative energy and manufacturing technologies. In this course your student will be introduced to the solar and wind energy as well as hands-on manufacturing with real machine tools. The first part of the week is spent building solar powered race cars and wind turbines to produce energy from wind. The second part of the week is spent fabricating a catapult using a variety of machine tools and a variety of hand tools. This is a great track for someone interested in a career in engineering or manufacturing. Safe operation of machinery and tools is stressed throughout the program. There is a solar car race, wind turbine electric production and weight lifting contests as well as a catapult launch contest held at the end of each module. Come join the fun! This has been a great week for my child. Hes already looking forward to next summers classes. The camp introduced my son to new technologies and allowed him an excellent hands-on experience.
