Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

GIS is the powerful interdisciplinary science of digital mapping and spatial analytics. GIS102: APPLIED TECHNIQUES FOR GIS
Explores the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in research and professional settings. Students will design and execute a capstone project focused on GIS analysis within their academic discipline. The project emphasizes hypothesis generation, project planning, and the utilization of diverse GIS software and data resources. Additional topics may include spatial analysis, remote sensing, and workflow modeling.

GEOGRPH 110: Maps & Spatial Reasoning
Develops spatial reasoning skills through a survey of maps, spatial science concepts, and geospatial technologies. Topics include geospatial information, navigation, map projections, symbolization, misuse of maps, and analysis of spatial data.
