Physical Science

Physical Science is an active, lab-driven introduction to physics and chemistry. By examining everyday phenomena—from vehicle physics and rocketry to household chemical reactions—this course reveals how energy, forces, and matter drive our physical environment. Through weekly hands-on laboratory investigations utilizing common materials, you will build essential scientific literacy, experimental fluency, and practical insights. It is the ideal foundational path for prospective educators and students seeking a clear, applied understanding of the physical world.

PHYSCI101: Conceptual Physical Science
Examines the science in the world around you, like inertia, gravity, and chemical reactions, and investigates phenomena with weekly lab investigations that utilize common materials. Immerse yourself in learning by doing as you analyze rockets, cars, and the chemicals in your home. Prepare to embark on a future of being an educator and being scientifically literate with knowledge of how physics and chemistry applies to everyday life. UC credit limitation: No credit if taken after a college level course in Physics or Chemistry.
