MLT Prerequisites

MLT Trainee License Requirement

Prior to beginning the second year of the MLT Program and participating in clinical practicum training, all MLT students are required to provide proof of a current, unexpired MLT Trainee License issued by the California Department of Public Health, Laboratory Field Services (CDPH/LFS).

Students must maintain a valid MLT Trainee License throughout their clinical practicum training and must have their license available as required while training at affiliated clinical facilities.

Please be advised that students must have completed a minimum of 60 semester units to be eligible to apply for an MLT Trainee License through CDPH/LFS.
