Hello! My name is Ricardo Rosales and I will be your instructor for this journey into the human body. Anatomy is a fascinating subject that will give you an understanding of how your body is put together and how amazing the body is. I look forward to guiding you in this journey and meeting via ConferZoom. 

Course Description

This course explores the major structural characteristics of the human body. We will start by introducing what anatomy is and how it is studied. Then we look at the language of anatomy to learn the different planes of dissection and the directional terms associated with the body that are commonly used in the anatomy lab. From there we will look at the tissue make-up of the body and then we start our survey of the 11 major body systems.

What to Expect in this Course

This is going to be a course where you will have to stay on top of the material. There is going to be a lot information in every chapter that we cover. If you get behind, it will be difficult for you to make up that information. We will meet during our scheduled times for lecture and lab, so I will go over the material and explain the concepts that need to be explained. This will also be the time for you to ask any questions you may have. You will have to put in a lot of hours, but this will pay off in your understanding of the material.

Lecture quizzes. Lecture exams. Lab practicals. Lab reports (summaries). Cumulative lecture final exam.

Often the pressure on our students is very strong, involving academic commitments, relationships, outside jobs and family pressure to name a few. The staff and faculty of College of the Canyons are here to see you succeed academically and care about your emotional and physical health. Veterans Resource Center

The College of the Canyons Veterans Resource Center is a department within the Student Services Division at the college, created to help veterans and veteran dependents with applying to College of the Canyons, enrolling in classes, and requesting VA Education or Vocational Benefits.
