Introduction

Picture of myself

I am your instructor, Dr. Miriam Golbert. I have been teaching at College of the Canyons for 25 years. I have been teaching Human Physiology for over 20 years and in the Hybrid format, so I am comfortable teaching online.

I am also the department chair and the COC Honors Program Faculty coordinator and the Phi Theta Kappa advisor (Honors society). Even though I have many hats, my favorite is teaching you! Seeing my students succeed is what makes my day every time.

On a personal note, I love playing tennis, and being with my children and granddaughters!

Course Description

Our class is scheduled for Tuesdays 1:00PM to 4:05PM. Since all my lectures are already recorded, I will meet with you via Zoom on Tuesdays.  I will have announcements about this later. Please plan on being "in class" during these times.

Thankfully for us, Zoom is completely integrated within Canvas and so you will access our class meetings through our Canvas course too. There is a link on the left-hand side of your screen, once you are in our course, that says ConferZOOM that is where our meetings will be scheduled, and you access the meetings through that link each day. There will be a much more detailed explanation of this for you in one of the first Modules in Canvas.
