Introduction
My name is Renée Hall and it will be my privilege to teach and learn from you as we strive to conquer the most popular computerized accounting program. CAWT 145 is a hands-on approach to computerized accounting with QuickBooks Online. QuickBooks Online is cloud-based, which means you access it via the Internet, so you do NOT purchase, download, or install QuickBooks on your computer. It also means you may use a MacBook, Chromebook, or Windows-based desktop, laptop, or notebook computer. A free trial license for QuickBooks Online is provided for registered students, compliments of the Intuit Education Program. I will provide you with detailed instructions for how to register for your free trial license during the first week of class.
I enjoy teaching and welcome questions. When you contact me, please follow the guidelines below:
- Email: Include CAWT 145 in the subject line and address message to Renee.Hall@canyons.edu
- Text: Include your name and CAWT 145 and send to 661-313-3769
The above guidelines ensure a prompt response. I get an alert on my phone when I receive an email message with CAWT 145 in the subject line. I can respond even if I am away from my computer. Email messages without the secret words in the subject might get a reply before the end of the semester or they might disappear in the black hole of never-ending, nonessential, and senseless email overload, never to be seen again.
The above guidelines also help me answer questions accurately. This is not the only course I teach, so I need to know the correct class to respond with correct information.
You may also request an appointment for a virtual meeting where we can meet in real-time via Zoom or over the phone. Include the following details when you email or text your appointment request:
- mode {phone or Zoom}
- course {CAWT 145}
- topic or reason or purpose of meeting
- preferred day AND time window {late am, afternoon, early pm, or late pm}
- alternate day AND time window {late am, afternoon, early pm, or late pm}
