Introduction

Course Description

This course surveys the discipline of Communication Studies, emphasizing a theoretical understanding of human communication.  It explores the history, assumptions, principles, specializations, and processes of human communication as an academic field.

What to Expect in this Course

At the end of this semester, you will be able to compare and contrast communication theories and assess how each concept is utilized within various communication contexts.

Types of Assessments

Quizzes, Exams, Chapter reflections, discussions.

We are using an Open Education Resource this semester created by the COC Communication Studies Department. It will be available in Canvas at the beginning of the semester at no cost to you.
