Introduction

Hi!

This class is designed to help you not only succeed in communication, but hopefully, in life overall.

During this time in our world's history when it's easy to feel isolated, I make sure that we meet each day live online when the class is scheduled... and when we meet, I create opportunities for you to interact, even one-on-one and in small groups -and from what I've learned over the last year, that's what students are craving... that's what we're all craving!

I also strive to be approachable and make sure concepts are simple, so that they stick with you and have value to you -not just in this class, but in your life outside the classroom today and even in the future!

...and finally, I make it a point to create and encourage an environment to enjoy ourselves doing all of that above... I hope you'll join me with that same approach, each and every day we meet live online via Zoom!
MTWTH: 6:00PM-8:35PM

Course Description

In this class, we will discuss a variety of concepts surrounding communication, including...

message structure and composition

how to manage fear

research credibility

providing feedback to yourself and others

the importance of both empathy and listening

and much, much more!

What to Expect in this Course

This class is divided into two halves. The first half is learning all about the fundamental tools of communication in what is designed to be a safe environment where you're graded credit/no credit.

During the first half, you'll learn what's important for presentations, so when we get to the second half of the class, you'll be ready to succeed in our graded presentations.

You will absolutely be successful in this course (and in life:), if you learn and/or refine what research has shown to be 3 keys to being productive:

1) following directions

2) asking questions

3) paying attention to detail
