Hello, I have been instructing for 15 years at College of the Canyons, and I have been in this industry for 35 years as a business owner and designer. I expect you to come to class prepared to learn the Principles and Elements you will need to be a successful designer, decorator, home stager, and consultant. 

Course Description

COURSE DESCRIPTION: 

Introduces the principles and elements of interior design based on function and aesthetics. Field trips may be required. 

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOME:

Students will learn to evaluate the appropriateness of room design based on the principles and elements of design, space planning, drafting, color, lighting, and accessorizing.   

What to Expect in this Course

Everything is scheduled weekly, including assignments, journaling, drafting, exams, and finals. Please read your schedule, your reading assignments, and complete your assignments as specified in your schedule for this course.

We expect you to have the internet, a reliable computer, and a means to communicate with your instructor and fellow students. You will also need ZOOM with the class weekly.

Take part in class discussions, do your assignments, and follow along with the schedule.

Types of Assessments

There will be weekly written assignments, Power Points, exams, discussions, journal entries, and class participation.
