Introduction
Welcome to my Trigonometry course. Thank you for considering me to guide you on this 16-week journey. This class will be conducted via Canvas/Zoom during the class's scheduled times. We will have lectures, discussions, and class work during these mandatory synchronous meetings. You must attend the first class meeting otherwise, you will be dropped unless I receive a notification in advance with a valid reason. No lecture recording will be available. However, the lecture handouts, class notes, and solutions to the assignments will be posted on Canvas. All the exams including Final Exam will be held in person on campus during our regular class time In Valencia Campus. Exam dates are 03/09/2023, 04/13/2023, and 05/18/2023. The final exam is scheduled for 06/01/2023.
Course Description
We will cover chapters 6 through 10in the text. Topics will include right triangles, static and dynamic trigonometry, radians, trigonometric graphs, trigonometric identities, inverse trigonometric functions, trigonometric equations, vectors, complex numbers, polar coordinates, and other topics if time permits.
What to Expect in this Course
You must log into Canvas and submit your first discussion on the first day of classes and submit your first assignment by Wednesday, of the first week at midnight. If are not completing your assigned work, you may be dropped from the course.
You will need to have access to Canvas to take the course. Through Canvas you will be able to access online work, submit book assignments and exams, and access all of the other instructional tools.
Student Learning Outcomes: By completing the course, the student will be able to define the six trigonometric functions and analyze them through graphing, proving identities, and solving equations.
Types of Assessments
Assessments will include daily assignments, quizzes relating to the homework assignments, four exams covering 1-2 chapters each, and a cumulative final exam on the last day the course meets.

Other Relevant Course Information
Students wishing to add the class must contact the instructor directly via email. Add codes will be provided on the first day the course meets, provided that space is available. Students will also be required to log in to Canvas the first day the class meets to complete the first day's material. Failure to do so may result in being dropped from the course.
Additional Helpful Materials:
1 . You should have a strong algebra foundation to be able to take this class.
2. Computer with internet access. You'll need reliable access to a desktop or laptop computer with a web camera and a microphone and stable internet service.
3. Make sure your electronic device has Microsoft office as well as Google Chrome.
4. You will take your exams online. Therefore you need to download proctorio in your computers.
5. Scanner or Smartphone with a scanning app. You will need to submit your work on time. Note: No late work will be excepted unless you will provide a valid reason.

Also, the National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline number is now 988. All students at COC are encouraged to enter that phone number in their cells. You can call it when you, or someone you know, is having thoughts of suicide or is in severe distress.
