Introduction

My name is Gagik Barsegian, and I will be your instructor in this course.

The course syllabus will be available on Canvas a week prior to the first day of the semester.

You will have four chapter exams and comprehensive final exam.

Class meetings: Tuesday/Thursday 05:00 PM - 7:05 PM

Course Description

Covers mathematical formulation of ordinary differential equations, methods of solution and applications of first order and second order differential equations, power series solutions, solutions by Laplace transforms and solutions of first order linear systems.

What to Expect in this Course

You must attend the first class meeting on the scheduled on August 24th 5:00 PM.  Any student absent on that day will be dropped unless I am notified in advance with a valid reason. Regular attendance is required. If you miss three class meetings, you may be dropped from the course unless there is a valid reason.

You will need to spend about 1-3 hours per each hour of class time (about 5-10 hours per week).

Participate in the class: Learning is more efficient when students are actively involved.

Regularly review the concepts and examples taught in the previous lesson.

Complete assignments on time.

Fundamentals of Differential Equations (9th edition), by R. Kent Nagle, Edward B. Saff, and Arthur David Snider.
