Introduction

Connie Perez

Welcome to NC.CGSL 001!

I hope you are ready for an exciting class!

I want to welcome you and congratulate you for deciding to enroll in this very important class.   Some of you are either new freshmen and/or still in high school. This class will help you learn study strategies to become successful students. What is the most important thing to know is that this class is for anyone who wants to learn to be ready to succeed in college by learning to implement effective study strategies.  In addition, you will also be exposed to learning about the following topics: academic expectations, financial aid options, career educational options, college resources and goal setting.

This is a 1 week course and you are expected to attend everyday and complete the work that is asked of you from day one. I assure you that it will be a great experience.  All of my past students have shared how much they learned about themselves and the valuable strategies they learned to be successful students.  The students who are successful in the course are those that are motivated and interested in the topic, and want to learn.  The rest will come with time.

If at any time you have a question, feel lost, or need help, please let me know as I am here to support you and guide you along the way.

We will work together to learn from each other, and I am sure that you will be motivated and become successful.  There is a lot of support starting with me, your fellow students and all the wonderful resources on campus.
