Introduction
Welcome to NC.CGSL 003, Money Management in College and Beyond. This course provides students with a foundation of money management concepts and financial literacy. Students understand how to create a budget to meet their educational goals using various strategies: FAFSA, scholarships, student loans, consumer credit, employment and banking products such as checking and savings accounts.
Course Description
Introductory course designed to provide students with financial literacy and awareness. Students explore tools to create a budget, develop a financial plan, pros and cons of credit and open checking and savings accounts.
What to Expect in this Course
After completing this course, you should be able to:
- Create and demonstrate successful budget keeping.
- Developing financial literacy and awareness.
- Demonstrate how to open and manage checking and savings accounts.
- Describe the characteristics of credit cards. Identify the pros and cons of credit card use, and calculate the total cost of credit.
Types of Assessments
I will be posting live Zoom meeting times, announcements, assignments, discussion items, and homework activities that you will be expected to participate in during the week.
