My name is Minoo Pakgohar and I will be your instructor for Current Events and Issues Impacting Older Adults NC.OAD-020. Continuous community engagement with age is at utmost importance for us. You will learn how to improve communication and critical thinking skills in this class. My goal is to help all of you to prevent social isolation by improving your communication skills.

This course analyzes and discusses current events and issues impacting older adults with an emphasis on improving communication and critical thinking skills.
What to Expect in this Course
This is a remote class and through zoom meetings there will be no campus visits. All of your submitted work (discussions, quizzes) will be completed through Canvas. Digital information for this course will be accessed via Canvas at cv.canyons.edu beginning the first day of class. I will send an email to the class one week prior to the start date with additional information. Only participants registered in this course will be able to log in to Canvas to access the course content. You can also access Canvas user guides with helpful tips for navigating and using Canvas. For any Canvas related issues please call the Canvas Student Support line at (661)362-3344 during college business hours, or (877)889-9052 for 24/7 support.

This course can be accessed on the first day of class via Canvas at https://coc.instructure.com. Log into Canvas using your CanyonsID single sign-on:
