Introduction

This course will blend anatomy, physiology and pharmacology. There is significant memorization.

Course Description

Introduces pharmacological concepts, drug classifications, therapeutic uses, side effects, dosage forms, and routes of administration. Examines concepts in drug development, alternative therapies, medication errors, drug usage, basic anatomy and physiology, and regulatory oversight. Admission to the Pharmacy Technology Program is required.

What to Expect in this Course

Our class is 3 units. Plan to spend approx 3 hours reading, watching lectures, watching videos and having a workload of assignments to help support your learning of the material up to 6 hours per week.

We will have proctored and online exams and quizzes, online discussion boards, and assignments.

Often the pressure on our students is very strong, involving academic commitments, relationships, outside jobs and family pressure to name a few. The staff and faculty of College of the Canyons are here to see you succeed academically and care about your emotional and physical health. Veterans Resource Center

The College of the Canyons Veterans Resource Center is a department within the Student Services Division at the college, created to help veterans and veteran dependents with applying to College of the Canyons, enrolling in classes, and requesting VA Education or Vocational Benefits.
