Introduction
I was admitted to the California Bar in 2005. Two decades later, as part of my semi-retirement, I happily teach Legal Analysis and Writing as well as Emergency Medical Response here at COC.
Course Description
My goal in this class is to teach you to write in a clear and concise manner that would then allow you to effectively and efficiently assist attorneys with their caseloads. As such, we will focus on the IRAC format as we learn to write legal memoranda.
What to Expect in this Course
You will be writing nearly every week with one assignment developing or another one due. You will also have assigned readings that will need to be done in advance of class.
Types of Assessments
There are 6 writing projects that make up 75% of your grade. The remaining 25% of the grade will be allocated as follows: 5% for class participation (which includes having your camera on, participating in breakout sessions, and asking questions) and 20% for the final exam.
