What to Expect in this Course
I am going to try to make this virtual classroom experience as close as possible to being in a face-to-face classroom. So, if you are looking for structure, regular meeting times, and interaction with both your professor and fellow classmates -- this is the class for you! Although having your camera on will not be required, it is HIGHLY recommended for maximum engagement with the class.
I will go over the syllabus and all course requirements on the first day of class -- so be sure to attend.
If you are not able to attend the class sessions via Zoom at the times posted in the schedule, please enroll in a different Psych 101 section.
Types of Assessments
Exams, quizzes, homework activities, Zoom breakout room chats
Textbook Information / Link to ZTC Textbook
Psychology (6th edition) by S. Ciccarelli & J. N. White, published by Pearson with Revel
You will be able to gain access to an online version of the text directly on our Canvas site. If you purchase electronic access to the text directly from our Canvas site (once available), it comes with Revel integrated. Gaining access from our Canvas site is the least costly option, as it will be approximately $80.
Or, if you prefer a printed version, you should order the printed version from our bookstore. The version from our bookstore should have the correct Revel code included with the print version of the text. There is also an option to purchase a printed version of the text once you register with Revel, if you also wish a printed copy.
In summary, if you purchase the correct Revel code, you do not need a separate textbook since the eTextbook is included with the code. (Unless you want a print version of the text.)
Other Relevant Course Information
I will go over the syllabus and all course requirements on the first day of class -- so be sure to attend! I will actually drop students who do NOT show up for the first day of class. It really helps if you have a camera so that I can see your face -- because again, I want to replicate a regular classroom experience as much as possible.
