My regular office is located at 27600 Bouquet Canyon Road, Suite 200, Santa Clarita, being CRC Enterprises, where I work during the day. However since the campus is starting to open up, due to the pandemic, I will hold my office hour every week right BEFORE class from 5:00pm to 6:00pm in the SSC room 102. If this doesn’t work for you, I am also available at other times by appointment.

Course Description
In this class we will focus on measurement analysis, Coordinate Geometry, calculations and State Plane Coordinates and surveying related calculations. By the end of the class you will be able to perform advanced land surveying applications, calculations, and State Plane Coordinates.
What to Expect in this Course

Survey 103 is being offered as a video conferencing hybrid with in-class lectures on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. You may choose to attend the lectures in person on the Valencia campus of via Zoom.
Canvas will be the LMS for this course and you will find all of the course content, handouts, grades, etc posted in Canvas. Zoom will be used to record each class meeting and the recording will be available through Canvas shortly after each class meeting. If you would like to join a test meeting in Zoom to make sure you are able to join meetings, go to www.zoom.us/test.
Types of Assessments
Your final grade will be based on a variety of assignments including homework, quizzes, and exams.
Textbook Information
Elementary Surveying: An Introduction to Geomatics. 15th Edition. By Wolf and Ghilani Published by Pearson Prentice Hall ISBN# 0134604652
You will also need a scientific calculator. Scientific calculators can easily be purchased in the campus bookstore, at WalMart, Staples, Office Depot and a number of other stores. The important features are trigonometric functions (Tan, Cos, Sin) and conversions of degrees, minutes, and seconds to decimal degrees and back. Please note that cell phone calculators are not permitted in class.
Other Relevant Course Information
You will need a reliable internet connection, your college email address, and basic computer skills including familiarity with basic windows formats, opening and closing files, sizing windows, starting programs, sending emails, attaching documents, and basic file management skills.

Veterans Resource Center
