Hi everyone, my name is Ryan Seymour and I will be the instructor this semester for weld 100C  Advanced Metal Fabrication. In this course we will be looking into more advanced sheet metal forming and shaping including programing and operation of a CNC press break. We will also look at the fundamentals of tube fabrication (notching and bending).

Course Description

Third in a three-part series of courses examining the principles and practices of metal fabrication, while emphasizing the safe and proper operation of metalworking equipment. Students construct advanced projects that involve design, layout, machining, fabrication, and welding technology.

What to Expect in this Course

Weekly assignments book assignments, hand outs and exams will be available on Canvas. Lab assignments will be done with basic hand tools you should already have from WELD 100a and Weld 100b.

Types of Assessments

We will have weekly assignments from our text book. We will also have handouts from time to time to complete which will be accessed on Canvas.

Management of Stress and Mental Health

Often the pressure on our students is very strong, involving academic commitments, relationships, outside jobs and family pressure to name a few. The staff and faculty of College of the Canyons are here to see you succeed academically and care about your emotional and physical health. You can learn more about the broad range of confidential student services, including counseling and mental health services available on campus by visiting the Student Health & Wellness Center in the Student Services Building (across from the bookstore). At the Canyon Country Campus the Health Center will be in the new Student Services Building.

Also, the National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline number is now 988. All students at COC are encouraged to enter that phone number in their cells. You can call it when you, or someone you know, is having thoughts of suicide or is in severe distress.

Veterans Resource Center
