Critical Thinking Strategies

Course Description: Introduces instructors to fundamental critical thinking tools for use with students, including strategies for practical application. Encourages instructors to utilize and apply innovative rhetorical analysis in the learning environment. Examines the implementation of critical thinking skills at all levels of course design. This course is designed for students and faculty preparing for and maintaining a career in education. Emphasis is placed on developing the knowledge and skills necessary for success as an educator.

Intro to OnlineLIVE & Hyflex Training

Course Description: Develop effective instructional skills to support the diverse needs of community college students in OnlineLIVE and HyFlex classes. Students will engage with content and complete assignments in a scaffolded learning environment.

Intro to Online Instruction

Location: 100% Online (36 Hours Total)
Course Description: Explores the application of learning theories for online learners; differences between face-to-face and online learning; resources for online teaching and learning; course management systems and online learning tools; and best practices for online learning. The class is designed so that participants will experience the components of an online course from both student and instructor perspectives. This course is a total of 36 hours. Participants would need to first complete the 4 hour self-paced Canvas class to prepare for IOI.
