Verification FAQ

College of the Canyons has partnered with and authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide degree and enrollment verifications.

Enrollment/Degree verifications are available for current students at no cost through the National Student Clearinghouse online self-service product via your MyCanyons account. Students not currently attending will be charged a service fee if requesting directly through the National Student Clearinghouse Website.

Using Student Self-Service, students may print enrollment verification certificates, view their enrollment history, and view real time student loan information including deferments.

To access the National Student Clearinghouse Self-Service portal and obtain an enrollment verification, from the home page select Menu, click on MyCanyons, and sign in to My Canyons. Under "Select your Experience" click on Current Student. This takes you into your student portal. From the drop-down options at the top of the page, under Admissions & Records click on Enrollment/Degree Verification. This will direct you to the National Student Clearinghouse MyHub current student portal. Once here, accept the Terms & Conditions, if you have not done so already, and click on next. Then set up multi-factor authentication via one of the options shown, if you have not done so already, and select Finish once a verification code has been sent to you. Once in the National Student Clearinghouse portal you will see your name and welcome message. From here select Self-Service. Under "Download an Enrollment Certificate" select the school and the type of verification you're requesting and finally click on Download Certificate. The downloads are available to you immediately.

Students may also go directly to the National Student Clearinghouse My Hub to make an Enrollment/Degree verification request. Please note, for current students, this option will charge a fee as opposed to logging in directly via MyCanyons above. 

Employers and entities acting on behalf of the student to obtain a degree or enrollment verification for employment purposes, etc., must request a verification through www.nationalstudentclearinghouse.org and will be required to pay a nominal fee.

Continuing Education (non-credit) enrollment verifications must be requested at the Continuing Education office on the Valencia campus, in Canyons Hall, CHCS-167.

Alternatively, you can request your verification in-person at the Admissions & Records counter during normal business hours. A government issued photo ID must be provided.

Students are classified as specified below for enrollment verification purposes.

Full time

3/4 time

1/2 time

1/4 time

Freshman

Sophomore

Enrolled in 12.0 or more units.

Enrolled in 9.0 - 11.9 units.

Enrolled in 6.0 - 8.9 units.

Enrolled in 3.0 - 5.9 units.

A student who has completed 30.0 units or less.

A student who has completed 31.0 units or more.
