Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)

If you are an undergraduate with exceptional financial need, you may be eligible for a Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (Federal SEOG):

  • The Federal SEOG provides up to $600 a year, depending on your expected family contribution, cost of attendance and whether you are attending full or part time.
  • Priority consideration is given if you are eligible for a Federal Pell Grant and have the maximum financial need (i.e. a zero Expected Family Contribution for award years 2023-24 and before; a negative $1500 Student Aid Index for award years beginning with 2024-25).
  • Unlike the federal Pell Grant, funds are limited, so there is no guarantee you will receive one. Due to limited funding, Federal SEOG are awarded on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Not all colleges offer the Federal SEOG.
