Dual Enrollment Student Checklist Timeline – Fall 2021

  • Students interested in participating in the dual enrollment program for Fall 2021 should contact their high school counselor BEFORE starting the admission process.
  • Students will receive an email from their high school the week of April 12 with additional information and instructions on how to participate.
  • Students will need to complete the below steps by the listed completion date.

Dual Enrollment Student Checklist – Admission & Registration Process

  • Applying is easy and FREE! Complete and submit the California Community College application using the CCCApply website.

    Within 24-48 hours of submitting your application, you will receive an Admissions Acceptance email from earlycollege@canyons.edu with instructions on how to complete the remaining steps.

    Important Information:

    • The application is best viewed on a desktop or laptop computer, not your phone.
    • Utilize Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox web browsers. Do not use Safari.


    First time applying?  Here's a video to help you!

    Now that you have watched the video go ahead and click on CCC APPLY to create an account.  Keep your CCC Apply username and password in a safe place.  After creating your CCC Apply account, you are ready to apply to College of the Canyons.

  • Once you have applied and received the college's "Admissions Acceptance" instruction email, you are ready to set up your student account in My Canyons. 

    How to set up your My Canyons Account:

    1. Activate your CanyonsID login at my.canyons.edu (or click on the button below).
    2. Click on Log In at the top.
    3. You will enter the CanyonsID username and password as instructed in your "Admissions Acceptance" email. 
    4. Once you have successfully logged in, you will need your Student ID number to continue through this checklist. You can find your Student ID number by clicking on 'My Canyons Profile' and select 'What's My Student ID?'.

  • The Online Orientation is designed to provide you with information about college procedures, programs, support services and policies. Please give yourself about 30 minutes of quiet time to complete this step.

    Important Information:

    • This is a one- time orientation.
    • The orientation is best viewed on a desktop or laptop computer, not your phone.
    • Utilize Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox web browsers. Do not use Safari.
    • You must use your COC student ID number. Do not mistake this number for your CCC apply number, a confirmation number or your high school student ID number.

  • Before proceeding with this step, make sure to complete Steps 1 – Step 3 of the admission process.

    Start by completing the Dual Enrollment Student Contact Questionnaire using the below link. 

    This form will confirm you have completed the above admission steps and gather contact information for you and a parent/guardian needed to launch the electronic Dual Enrollment Special Admission Form.

    Within 2 business days of submitting your Student Contact Questionnaire, you will receive a separate email from Enrollment Services <adobesign@adobesign.com> to the email address provided on the Student Contact Questionnaire. The email will have a subject line of “Signature requested on “Fall 2021 Dual Enrollment Special Admission Form”. Please complete the required fields and digitally sign the form.

    The form will automatically forward to your parent/guardian’s email address you provided on the Student Contact Questionnaire to obtain their signature. The form will then be automatically forwarded to your high school for signatures from a counselor and principal (or designee).

    Once completed, all parties will receive an email from College of the Canyons <adobesign@adobesign.com> with the subject line “Completed: Fall 2021 Dual Enrollment Special Admission Form” and a copy of the completed form for your records.

    The College will then proceed with processing your form for enrollment.

  • The Early College Program will register you into the dual enrollment course upon completion of the admission process and confirmation by your high school.

    We expect to complete dual enrollment registration by May 21.

    During the week of May 24, you will receive an enrollment confirmation email from earlycollege@canyons.edu. This email will contain your course meeting information, instructor contact information and link to their orientation letter, information about the textbook (if required), and available student support services and resources designed to help you succeed. You will also be able to view your class schedule in your My Canyons student account.

  • Many courses use an Open Educational Resources (OER) Textbook which is educational material available online.  For courses that use a textbook, you will be able to check out the textbook through your high school library prior to the start of your class.  Additional information will be provided to you in August. 
  • For all FALL 2021 courses, it is very important that you read the instructor’s ORIENTATION LETTER for each class you register for, in order to be aware of the type of class you're in. Read your Instructor's orientation letter for information about their class, such as their required textbooks(s), instructional materials, important dates, or other course requirements.

    You may find yourself using Canvas for the first time.  Explore our Canvas Guides to learn how to navigate and be successful in your online classroom.

    Visit the Online Student Support page to find a list of available student resources and software to help with the transition to online learning.

  • If you have a disability, IEP and/or 504, you may be eligible for accommodations through our Disabled Students Program & Services (DSPS) office.  It is the student’s responsibility to contact DSPS prior to the start of the semester for evaluation and approval of eligible and appropriate accommodations to a college course. 

    Students seeking services through DSPS will need to:

    • Complete and submit the DSPS Application for Services
    • Submit a current IEP/Psycho Ed Report
    • Schedule an appointment with DSPS counselor to review accommodations

    Note: Students are required to submit a college application prior to submitting documentation to DSPS.
