Hello and welcome! Business 201 is a course designed to introduce students to accounting, specifically financial accounting. This 5 unit course is transferable to any university. Class meets once a week on campus for sections 63867 & 63869. Section 68991 is a condensed, 12-week, 100% online course. Section 69051 is a condensed, 8-week, 100% online class.
This course introduces the fundamental principles and concepts of corporate accounting as a basis for financial communication in business. This includes the procedures in maintaining records of business transactions and the preparation of financial statements for corporations. Issues in accruals, deferrals, and financial accounting matters are included.
What to Expect in this Course
Students are expected to log into course and submit assignments roughly 3 times a week. The estimated weekly time commitment needed to be successful in this course is 5 hours. A new Canvas module will open every week.
