Course Description

Course Delivery Format

If you enroll in a 100% Online course, there will be no in-classroom meetings and no scheduled Zoom meetings.

If you enroll in a Hybrid course, you will meet for a single class session on the day, time, and place specified in the Schedule of Classes. An announcement of this in-person meeting will be sent to you in email before the start of the semester. The remainder of the class will be conducted entirely online, with no scheduled meetings. If you cannot meet on that day, please send me a message (martin.pfeiffer@canyons.edu) and you will not be counted as absent.

This is an 8-week, 1.5-unit course designed to familiarize students with Adobe Photoshop’s interface, tools, and image editing concepts. Since this is a short-term class, regular participation is imperative. All material for the class will be made available in the modules on Canvas. No textbook is required.

The course is highly project oriented. You’ll have one big project per week. There will be opportunities to demonstrate your skills in creative projects. We will post these in a discussion board for the entire class. Stay on track with the rest of the class so the discussion works. This is an opportunity for you to get feedback from your peers.

What to Expect in this Course

Assignment Submissions

All assignments, quizzes and discussions will be submitted through Canvas. If you are unfamiliar with Canvas, please review the Canvas training videos at https://guides.instructure.com.

All assignments are due by 11:59 PM on the due date. Late assignments make Professor Marty very upset! Just kidding—I accept late work. However, will not receive points for turning it in on time. This can make the difference between an A and a B, for example. Ultimately, all work must be submitted before the final day of the semester.

I use a rubric to grade all your work. It’s a good idea to check the rubric to see if you missed anything before hitting “Submit.”
