Introduction

Hello students,

My name is Jeffrey Koerner. I will be your instructor for this class. Please Review the syllabus prior to the start of the course.

Download a copy of AutoCAD 2020 from the Autodesk website prior to the start of the course.

 

Course Description

This course is an introduction to Engineering graphics using AutoCAD software. Topics include: Basic Object Construction, Object Editing, Orthographic Projection, Dimensioning, Plotting, Parametric Drawing Tools, Auxiliary Views, Section Views, Assembly drawings, Tolerances and Isometric drawings.

What to Expect in this Course

This class will have a Lecture and a Lab for each meeting. The Lab assignments are due at the end of each Lab session. Homework will be given after the completion of each Chapter in the Textbook. There are 11 Chapters in the Textbook. Each Chapter will be reviewed in two class sessions, except Chapter 8, which will be reviewed in one session. Homework is due one week after being assigned.

Types of Assessments

Lab assignments, Homework assignments and three Exams. The Exams will be primarily creating AutoCAD drawings. The first two Exams have some fill in the answer questions.

Other Relevant Course Information

If you download a Mac version of AutoCAD from the website, it will appear very different than the PC versions. There are some AutoCAD functions which don't work on the Mac version of AutoCAD.

Veterans Resource Center
