Hello everyone! Welcome to Precalculus! I teach math for over 30 years and I love it.

This is a synchronous course that will meet online via Zoom on Canvas. Students will be required to login to Canvas each day the class is scheduled to meet, participate in Zoom lectures, post questions and/or comments, and complete assignments. Exams and quizzes will be completed on WebAsign.

Course Description

Analyzes equations, inequalities, functions, systems of equations, conic sections, zeroes of polynomial equations and additional topics in preparation for calculus.

What to Expect in this Course

All material for the course (including the Zoom link) is accessed through Canvas. Each day that new material is covered, students will be expected to complete the associated daily assignments. Exams and quizzes must also be completed on or before the scheduled times/days they are assigned. Late submissions of any work will not be accepted unless there is a valid reason. All due dates will be specified in the WebAssign.

Types of Assessments

Assessments will include daily section homework assignments, chapter quizzes relating to the section homework assignments, and a cumulative final exam on the last day of the course. Students will need to purchase an WebAssign access code to access the assignments.

We will be using Precalculus by Cohen, Lee and Sklar 7th edition. You get a free eBook access with the purchase of an WebAssign access code.

Students wishing to add the class must contact the instructor directly via email. Add authorizations will be provided on or before the first day the course meets, provided that space is available in the class.

Students will also be required to log into Canvas and the Zoom lecture the first day the class meets. Failure to do so may result in being dropped from the course.
