Introduction

First and foremost, welcome to Introductory Statistics. My name is Julio Herrera, and I will be your instructor for this course. It is vital that you keep up to date with the reading and homework assignments. I recommend that you use the chapter reviews and chapter exams at the end of every chapter in the textbook as a guide. Go over key terms, learning objectives, and summaries, whilst asking yourself if you have mastered the concepts and processes mentioned in those reviews. Again, welcome to the class and stay tuned to Canvas for announcements, guides, and review material. :)

This orientation letter will provide you with helpful information as you prepare for our class.

Other Relevant Course Information

Attendance: Regular participation is crucial to your success in the class. Please do the online assignments on time. If you cannot complete assignments on a regular basis and on their due date, you should take this class at another time that fits your schedule. Students not participating and completing online work may result in being dropped from the class. However, it is your responsibility to officially drop the course if you stop attending.

In order to do well in this class you should work on your homework immediately after viewing the lecture videos, and you should attempt to complete the quizzes for each section as soon as you have completed the homework for the section of interest. Because MyStatLab does not grade each step of your work, you should write your homework down on paper in case you need to ask me questions in class or during my office hours.
