Membership Changes Lives

Your contributions to the Chancellor's Circle allow the Foundation to support new projects with far-reaching implications.  The College of the Canyons Foundation and the Chancellor's Circle Steering Committee work diligently to fund innovative programs, new unfunded projects and initiates that support student success.

Once such area of support is the Chancellor's Circle Mini-Grant program for faculty.  Since inception, the Chancellor's Circle Mini-Grant program has awarded more than 130 Mini-Grants of $1,000 to faculty.

With Your support, the Chancellor's Circle will work to achieve the following three goals:

  • Fund innovative programs that assist students in affording college and eliminating roadblocks to education.
  • Provide members unique access to professional development opportunities, faculty presentations and special events.
  • Cultivate an integrated and diverse network of supporters where members can share innovative ideas and serve confidently as College of the Canyons ambassadors throughout the region.

Membership Makes a Difference

The Chancellor's Circle helps to fund innovative projects that support student success and respond quickly to the needs of the College.  While there are dozens of examples, here are a few projects recently funded by the COC Foundation:

  • The First-Year Promise Program
  • The MakerSpace
  • Civic Engagement
  • The Sustainability Center
  • Early Childhood Education iPad Project
  • College of the Canyons Institute for Culinary Education

The Chancellor's Circle Mini Grant program is funded exclusively by the membership fees from the Chancellor's Circle.  Mini-Grants allow full-time faculty to design and deliver unique projects for their academic field of student and students - experiences that our students would not otherwise have.  Since inception, more than 130 Chancellor's Circle $1,000 Mini-Grants have been awarded to College of the Canyons faculty.  Here are just a few projects funded by the program:

  • Human Trafficking Forum
  • Future Business Leaders of America Student Team
  • Just Jazz Student Performance at Jazz Monterey Festival
  • Biodiversity Campus Project
  • Model U.N. Student Team
  • Open Educational Resources Project
  • COC Competition Speech Team
  • Leadership Opportunities for COC Honors Students
  • Cancer Awareness Conference Series
  • Military Reception & Veteran Employment Event
  • Mobile Human Cadaver Simulation Table
