Workers' Compensation

California law guarantees certain benefits to employees who are injured or become ill because of their jobs.

Any job related injury or illness is covered.  Types of injuries include, but may not be limited to, strains, sprains, cuts, cumulative or repetitive traumas, fractures, illnesses and aggravations.

All work related injuries must be reported to your supervisor immediately.  Don't delay.  There are time limits. If you wait too long, you may lose your right to benefits.

The Workers' Compensation Claim form and Employee Accident Investigation Report must be returned to the Human Resources Office in order to process your claim for workers' compensation benefits.

If you have not pre-designated a physician to treat you in the event of a work-related injury or illness, your non-emergency medical care will typically be directed by one of the following: Concentra, Exer, AFC Urgent Medical Group.  If you have pre-designated your personal physician, you may see that doctor for treatment of your work work-related injury or illness.

For emergency care, please call 911, if appropriate, or go to Henry Mayo Hospital Emergency Room.
