Guiding Principles and Practices
The Institutional Research, Planning, and Institutional Effectiveness (IRPIE) office at College of the Canyons uses as a guide the Association of Institutional Research Ethical Principles, and more broadly, the Belmont Report (Health and Human Services) on Ethical Principles and Guidelines for the Protection of Human Subjects of Research. Student Outcomes Research and Evaluation
The IRPIE office tracks student outcomes data to help the College and programs measure student learning, retention, persistence and completion of student goals, including assessment of disproportionate impact for different student populations. Some of the student outcomes data tracked by the IRPIE office are highlighted in the office's "Student Outcomes Research and Evaluation" document.
