Associate Degrees for Transfer (AA-T / AS-T)

College of the Canyons offers several Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADT) that provide a streamlined pathway to the California State University (CSU) system. These degrees include the Associate in Arts for Transfer (AA-T) and Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T), designed to guarantee CSU admission with junior standing upon completion.

About the ADT Pathway:

California Community Colleges and the CSU system have collaborated to make transferring more efficient. Students earning an AA-T or AS-T degree are:

  • Guaranteed admission with junior standing to a California State University.

  • Given priority consideration for admission to a local CSU campus or a program deemed similar to their major at College of the Canyons.

Note: The ADT may not be the best pathway for students planning to transfer to a specific CSU campus or to a non-CSU university. Students are encouraged to consult a counselor to determine the best transfer route for their goals.

ADT Degree Requirements:

To earn an Associate Degree for Transfer, students must complete:

  • 60 transferable semester units (or 90 quarter units), including:

    • The California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC), and

    • A minimum of 18 semester units (27 quarter units) in the major or area of emphasis with a grade of C or better (a “P” grade is acceptable).

  • A minimum GPA of 2.0 in all transferable coursework.

Students who complete an AA-T or AS-T degree can typically finish their CSU bachelor’s degree within 60 additional semester units (or 90 quarter units).
