Notice of Board of Trustees Appointment
March 24, 2023
In compliance with California Education Code §5092, the Santa Clarita Community College District Board of Trustees hereby provides public notice of an appointment to fill a vacant seat on the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees seat representing Trustee Area 4 was vacant as of Feb. 6, 2023, due to the death of Trustee Michele Jenkins. The board voted in open session on Feb. 11, 2023, to initiate a process to appoint a provisional board member who resides in Trustee Area 4 to fill the remainder of the unexpired term. At its meeting on March 22, 2023, the Board of Trustees voted to appoint Jerry Danielsen to represent Trustee Area 4 for the remainder of the unexpired term. Unless a petition calling for a special election, containing a sufficient number of signatures, is filed in the office of county superintendent of schools within 30 days of the date of the provisional appointment, it shall become an effective appointment.

In compliance with California Education Code § 5092, the Santa Clarita Community College District Board of Trustees hereby provides public notice of a vacant board seat to be filled by appointment.
