    CWEE Orientation

In order to register for an internship or work experience course at College of the Canyons, you must view and complete the CWEE Online Orientation. Allow yourself about 15 minutes.

At the conclusion of the orientation, you will submit a Waiver of Liability and your contact information which initiates an email to the Internship office. Once Internship staff receives the email, and you complete the required forms, they will adjust your student record permitting you to register in a specific CWE course (CWE-186, CWE-188 or CWE-189). The online orientation fully explains the process. To expedite the matter, you should have access to a printer, a scanner and email.

You will need your seven digit student ID#; you can find your student ID# on "MyCanyons". If you are not a COC student, you may submit an application to College of the Canyons through to the Admissions and Records (A&R) website. For assistance regarding your college application, student ID, or your My Canyons account, you can reach A&R at 661.362.3281.

    ZTC

    What is ZTC?

Zero Textbook Cost, or ZTC for short, are digital textbooks available for FREE to students. Many instructors at College of the Canyons have chosen to use these textbooks, which are created by using Open Educational Resources (OER), or openly licensed content, to reduce educational costs for students. As textbook prices rise, more and more courses are utilizing ZTC textbooks to provide a free alternative to commercial textbooks.

I can take classes with FREE textbooks?!

Yes! Classes that use Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) textbooks are listed in the class schedule. You can click on a class section to verify that it is a ZTC textbook course. There will be a note explaining that the class uses a no-cost digital textbook.

How can I find ZTC Classes?

It's easy! To enroll in a class without any textbook fees, open the schedule of classes and check the box, Search for ZTC sections.” There is a textbook icon with a slashed money sign beneath the box. Once you’ve checked this box, click “Submit” at the bottom of the page to generate the class sections with no textbook costs.

How will I access my ZTC Digital Textbook?

Your instructor will direct you on how to access your free textbook. You may also find this information in your course Orientation Letter, and in Canvas. You may also explore ZTC Textbooks for a full list of the ZTC textbooks developed and adopted by College of the Canyons faculty. ZTC classes typically offer instructional material for free in a digital form.

Can I also get a printed copy of the textbook?

Printed versions of the ZTC textbooks may be offered at the Bookstore for a fee. Visit coc.bncollege.com for more information. Free printing is also available to College of the Canyons students at the ASG Computer Labs.
