Garden Walk
Join us on Friday, October 18th from 9am to 11am for a guided tour around our beautiful Canyon Country Campus, identifying various plants, trees, insect, etc., while getting your questions answered by our knowledgeable faculty. Participants will learn how to identify unique plants and use provided binoculars to spot birds, and whatever else we can spot! We will also be planting and seeding for the Fall!
This is a free event and open to the public!! We will be meeting in parking Lot 3 on the steps at Quad 1 at 9am. Please feel free to spread the word and invite your family and friends. We look forward to seeing you at our Garden Walk event!
Last semester's Spring 2024 Garden Walk event!!
On Friday, April 26th, College of the Canyon's professor Jeannie Chari led a group of enthusiastic attendees on a walk around the Canyon Country Campus. The group used binoculars to spot and identify birds, learned about the unique plants, flowers and trees on campus, and spent time in the lab using microscopes to explore pond water samples.
Special this time, the group participated in planting several new plants in a designated garden area in support our native habitat. It was a morning of learning, fresh air, and a healthy walk around our beautiful campus!
Fall 2023 Garden Walk event!
Thank you for joining us at our annual Fall Garden Walk on Friday, October 20th! Professor Jeannie Chari took us on a guided tour of the unique plant and bird life at our beautiful Canyon Country Campus. Participants were able to identify a variety of bird species and learn about plant life around campus, using provided binoculars. It was a morning of learning, fresh air, and a healthy walk around our beautiful campus!
Spring 2023 Garden Walk event!
On Friday, May 5th, our professor, Jeannie Chari, took us on a guided tour of the unique plant and bird life at our beautiful Canyon Country campus. Participants were able to identify and learn about plants and trees around campus, use binoculars provided to spot various birds and microscopes to examine collected seeds, leaves and pond water samples.
