Application

1. Apply to College of the Canyons - It may take up to 48 hours for you to receive a student identification number.
2. Complete the College of the Canyons online assessment through the Assessment Center to determine your English and Math course placement. If available, it is helpful to have a copy of your high school transcripts for reference.
3. Complete the online Orientation for College of the Canyons from your MyCanyons account.
4. Complete the Inspire Scholars/NextUp Application.
5. Verification of dependency is required. Please email the verification letter to inspirescholars@canyons.edu 
   • If you were in foster care in California and your case is closed, please call the California State Ombudsman at 877-846-1602 to obtain your verification letter. When you call, you will tell them that you need a letter verifying your time in foster care for financial aid purposes. 
   • If your case is still active, please contact your social worker for a copy of your verification letter. 

Once we receive your Inspire Scholars/NextUp application and review eligibility, we will contact you to schedule an appointment.
