Alex Howard

Alex Howard began studying communication at Santa Monica College in 2007. He transferred to CSU Channel Islands, earning a bachelors degree in May 2012. He went on to earn a masters degree at CSU Northridge in May 2014. His masters thesis is titled, Disorderly Masculinity: Dominance, Slackerismand Camaraderie in Surprise. Alex has been teaching public speaking and other communication courses since the Fall semester of 2012. He has taught at several local universities and community colleges, specializing in the area of public speaking. His passion for public speaking stems from an ongoing personal desire to improve his own public speaking skills. He has been a member of the international public speaking group, Toastmasters, since 2008 and has served as a consultant and facilitator of public speaking workshops. He created the website, Public Speaking Basics, to share his experiences in and out of the classroom.
