Jeffrey Cox  JEFFREY COX

  Adjunct Professor of Communication Studies

Jeffrey Cox spent the first half of his professional career working in private investigations, specializing in criminal probes and fugitive recovery. In 2009 he had an opportunity to correct one of his biggest regrets in life and started attending college for the first time. Being a resident of Santa Clarita, it made perfect sense to begin his journey at College of the Canyons. After a brief stay at COC he transferred to the University of Southern California and earned a BA in Communication and a Master of Communication Management, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Always being a person who remembers his roots, he came full circle and returned to COC to begin his teaching career. Jeffrey formed several lasting friendships with his fellow students at USC and believes it gives him an advantage in better understanding the wants and needs of his current students who are generally from the same generation.

Jeffrey is married with two adult daughters, a young son, and two granddaughters. He enjoys international travel and has travelled extensively throughout East and Southeast Asia. He is interested in cultures from around the world and learning how cultural differences actually connect us. Jeffrey played baseball for about 35 years, but finally had to give the sport up in the interest of being able to walk in his golden years.
