Elisa Flores

My name is Elisa Flores. I have been teaching English as a Second Language for the past 18 years. Currently, I am teaching ESL levels I and 2 for the Even Start program at the Newhall site and ESL level 4 at the COC campus on Saturdays. I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University Autonomous of Puebla, Mexico and a Masters degree in Educational Administration from California State University Northridge. Also, I have earned a Certificate in the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language from a US accredited institution in Mexico, and a Professional Clear Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential with an emphasis in Teaching English as a Second Language from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing of the State of California. What I have learned about teaching is well expressed by Friedrich Nietzsche, You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist. I enjoy the challenge of finding different ways for my students to learn. Im always trying different teaching techniques and methods, but most importantly, I like to create a fun, safe and comfortable learning environment.
