Linda Steen

I graduated with honors from California State University of Northridge where I earned my BA in English. I then earned my Adult Clear Credential, with a 4.0 grade point average, at UCLA. I have been teaching at College of the Canyons since the Community Education ESL program began in 2005. I have taught levels 1-4. I am currently teaching level 4 and a sentence writing class. Teaching students English and helping them achieve their education and career goals is my passion. I believe in a well rounded, balanced and fun approach to learning English. In addition to books, I use videos, audio and music Cd's to teach a variety of English skills including: listening, speaking, pronunciation, accent reduction, reading, grammar, writing sentences and paragraphs. Level 4 students are introduced to essay writing. Additionally, students are encouraged to share their cultural heritage with the class; students expand their English skills while learning about the world.
