Luis Diego Lara

Adjunct Instructor of Spanish, Costa Rica


Luis D. Lara was born and raised in San José, Costa Rica. He moved to the United States just as he was completing his primary education. As a Santa Clarita resident he started his academic education at College of the Canyons where his passion for Latin American literature and culture began. As a cougar he was involved in the college’s soccer team as a player and assistant coach. As he continued his education he transferred to California State University Northridge. As a Matador, he has published several of his works in the program’s online journal. Luis also obtained his Bachelors degree and his Masters in Spanish, with an emphasis in Latin American literature from CSUN. He is passionate about the art of teaching and sharing his cultural experiences. He loves to be involved in the community, and charity events as well as volunteering to teach and coach his daughter’s youth soccer team around Santa Clarita.
