Personal Care Aide Training Certificate of Completion
The Personal Care Aide Training certificate offers training in preparation to assist older adults, individuals with disabilities, and those with chronic health issues, including Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia and will give you employable skills for entry level work providing personal care services in people’s homes, in assisted living residences, nursing facilities, and other residential housing facilities. Upon successful completion of NC.HLTH-001, students earn the American Red Cross certificate for Adult and Pediatric CPR, First Aid, and AED meets OSHA/workplace requirements.
- HLTH-001 Adult and Pediatric CPR, First Aid, and AED: Presents the skills needed to recognize and respond to a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children, and infants. Upon successful completion of this course, students to receive a digital American Red Cross certificate for Adult and Pediatric CPR, First Aid, and AED (valid for two years) for an additional fee. And, obtain the American Red Cross certificate for Adult and Pediatric CPR, First Aid, and AED meets OSHA/workplace requirements.
- HLTH-010 Personal Care Aide: Prepares the student to assist older adults, individuals with disabilities, and those with chronic health issues including Alzheimer's Disease and dementia. An emphasis will be placed on understanding the roles and responsibilities of a personal care aide, communication skills, assisting with activities of daily living, maintenance of a healthy environment, basic nutrition, safe transfer techniques, and procedures for medical emergencies.
- HLTH011 Health Professions Workforce Skills: Provides training to ensure the delivery of high-quality care in the health professions. An emphasis will be placed on communication strategies, workplace ethics and professionalism, managing stress, health profession employability skills, and self-reflection for lifelong learning and growth.
