Jessica Maganda

Jessica Maganda hasworked as a Registered Nurse since 2011. Her interest in health care lead her to a volunteer opportunity as a clinical care extender at Valley Presbyterian Hospital in 2007, where she completed over 240 hours in patient care areas such as: telemetry, emergency department, pediatrics, maternity, labor and delivery and the pediatric intensive care unit. She then began her career in health care as a Unit Secretary on a medical/surgical/oncology unit at Valley Presbyterian Hospital. Since that time, she has carried out a range of positions such as serving as a Computer Provider Order Entry Super User at Simi Valley Hospital in 2011, and as a Registered Nurse in a medical/surgical and orthopedic unit at Glendale Adventist Medical Center from 2011 through 2013. For the past two years, she has provided patient care, overseen nursing care as a relief Charge Nurse, and served as a mentor and preceptor for new graduate nurses in the cardiac intensive care unit at Glendale Adventist Medical Center. Also, for the last eighteen months she functions as a Registered Nurse at the first aid station at Warner Brother studios.
In addition to her vast and varied clinical experience, Jessicas academic background includes being a full-time student at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) to obtain her Master of Science degree in Nursing to achieve her goal of becoming an Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) and Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS). She earned her Bachelor of Science degree at California State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) in 2013, and earned her Associate degree in nursing from College of the Canyons (COC) in 2011, during which she served as vice president for the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA) COC chapter. She currently holds membership in the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN).
Besides her awaited commencement in the spring of 2017, her future plans include becoming certified as an Adult Critical Care Nurse (CCRN), and traveling together with other nursing colleagues from UCLAs school of nursing on a medical mission to Cuba during the winter of 2016.
Jessica is a skilled nurse who exudes compassion, as well as competence while caring for the critically ill. Jessica believes building a long lasting and trusting relationship with patients and their families is imperative to providing excellent patient care. Jessica has shown that empathy, grace, and clinical excellence are what it takes to become an outstanding and successful woman in today's nursing society.
