Diane & Bob Benjamin

Diane and Bob Benjamin were married in 1978 and immediately moved to Canyon Country, their first home in the Santa Clarita Valley. Diane is originally from Brooklyn, NY, and Bob is a native Californian, born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. Their two children, Robert and Katherine, were alumni of Canyon and Saugus High Schools. The family has grown since with three grandchildren, Mackenzie, Chase, & Wyatt. They have resided on both the east and west sides of the SCV, and currently own Western Airparts Corporation, a small aircraft parts business. While the business keeps Bob busy, Diane has been retired for over 10 years and has enjoyed her love of gardening, both at home as well as in the community by founding the Gardening Club of Santa Clarita Valley, and being part of the original organizing committee for the Community Garden of SCV at Central Park. At one time, Diane also owned and operated The Country Gourmet a retail kitchen accessory and gourmet food store. Diane & Bobs community interests started by volunteering for the Santa Clarita Valley Safe Rides Program as adult supervisors of high school kids providing safe transportation for peers in need. After the kids were no longer high school age, they volunteered for several other non-profit organizations including the SCV Food Pantry, the Domestic Violence Center, Child & Family Center, Soroptomist International, College of the Canyons Foundation, and Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Foundation. Bob still participates on the HMNH Governing Board and several committees. The Santa Clarita Valley is a beautiful place to live and work, and Diane and Bob have been committed to giving back to their community for over 30 years.
