Dr. Stacie Gereb

Stacie Gereb is a second generation College of the Canyons alumnus. Her mother attended COC in the 1970s. She fondly remembers taking Winston Wutkee fieldtrips to Morro Bay, Death Valley and her favorite--the gold rush country. Stacie started taking classes at COC while in her freshman year at Hart High School. She was given special permission during her senior year from the Hart district to take biology from Jim Boykin.
Stacie graduated from Hart in 1984 ranked 4th in her graduating class with a 4.0+ GPA. After graduation she decided to attend COC for her general education despite getting accepted at UCLA. When she began as a full time student, she had already earned 20 college units. During her two years at COC she served on the Judiciary Committee and tutored in The Learning Center. In 1986 she transferred to UC Irvine with a major in biological science. She was named to the Deans List every quarter during her 2 years on campus and graduated with a BS in biological sciences in 1988. She took a year off before attending medical school and returned to COC to take additional classes.
Stacie then attended medical school at College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP) from 1989-1993. She was very involved in medical school as ABS vice president, yearbook editor-in-chief and president of the American Medical Student Association. At COMP she received both the Joseph and Dorothy Gendron Award, and the Presidents Award and was published in Whos Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. She did her internship at Grandview Osteopathic Hospital in Ohio and followed this with her pediatric residency at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles where she received the Della Mudd Award.
Stacie began her pediatric career in private practice in Orange County from 1997-2003. In 2003 she returned home to Santa Clarita and began her career with Kaiser Permanente. In 2006 she was honored to be nominated by a patients family for Kaisers Everyday Heroes and was subsequently selected as a Southern California Region Everyday Hero. She was chosen lead pediatrician in 2009. She has lectured to medical students on campus at COMP and taught nurse practitioner and medical students in her office. She loves being a pediatrician.
Stacie and her husband Wade, who earned an AS from COC in computer networking, live in Newhall with her 4 year old twins, Cody and Shelbie. She hopes her twins one day will be the 3rd generation at COC.
