2011

Jonathan Gonzalez is an award-winning television journalist, currently working as a reporter and fill-in anchor at KNBC Los Angeles, morning newsdesk. Many of Jonathan's stories have been shared nationally since his time as a reporter at KBAK/KBFX in Bakersfield, CA, his first job in the industry. There, he was awarded a regional Edward R. Murrow award, two regional Emmy awards and two RTNA Golden Mike awards for his coverage on immigration and the drought.

Jonathan began his journalism education at College of the Canyons, where he reported and anchored for Cougar News and was named Journalist of the Year in 2011 by the Media Entertainment Arts Department. In 2013, he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Cal State Northridge, where he won his first regional Edward R. Murrow award and RTNA Golden Mike with KCSN radio. Jonathan is a proud Costa Rican-American, who was born and raised in Burbank, CA and graduated from Burbank High School. He credits much of his success to his parents, Jorge and Teresa, his younger brother, Esteban, and his girlfriend, Maricela. Of course, he also credits his time at COC for helping him lay down the foundation of his career.
